Personalised Santa Platter Treat Board

We love Christmas traditions and leaving out treats for Santa really takes us back to our childhood. Why not continue this sweet traditional offering with a Slate House Welsh slate Santa Treat Board. 

This hand-cut board is laser engraved with our Slate House design and says ‘Dear Santa, Here is a treat for you & your reindeers too’.

There’s an area for a mince pie or a cookie, a carrot for the reindeers, milk for Santa (or perhaps something stronger). 

If you would like to make your own mincemeat and mince pies for Santa then try this recipe which uses butter instead of suet. 

Ingredients:

500g bag of dried mixed fruit (normally contains sultanas, candied citrus peel and raisins).

100g dried cranberries.

1 small cooking apple, peeled, cored and chopped into small pieces.

100g butter.

180g light brown soft sugar.

½ tsp ground cinnamon.

1 tsp mixed spice.

Juice of 1 lemon.

200ml of your favourite festive spirit e.g. rum, brandy or sherry. We enjoy gingerbread spiced dark rum. 

Method:

Add all of the ingredients except for the alcohol in to a large pan. Simmer on a low heat for approximately 10 minutes. Stir often.

Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool completely. Once cooled add your festive spirit and mix thoroughly. 

Spoon the mixture into jam jars that have been sterilised. Seal tightly and leave for two weeks before using.
