10 Must-See Stalls at Neath Food Festival

Everyone in Neath (including the Slate House team!) is looking forward to Neath Food Festival. The annual event sees thousands of food and drink lovers flock to the town to take in the atmosphere and sample the array of delicious flavours on offer.

The three day event kicks off on Friday 30th September and if you’re in the area, you really would be foolish to miss it. Here’s our round-up of the must-see stalls…

1. Snowdonia CheeseSnowdonia Cheese

At  Slate House, we are all huge fans of Snowdonia Cheese – the company has won numerous awards and if you love your cheese packed with flavour, you won’t want to miss out. This particular stall is always really busy but do be patient, the cheese is most definitely worth the wait!

2. DockwoodsDockwoods

At  Neath Food Festival 2016, the Dockwoods stall was directly opposite the Slate House store – so naturally we just had to taste their range of goodies! They produce beetroot and red cabbage chutney, chilli glaze, smoked goats cheese, black pepper and honey goats cheese… don’t miss ANY of it!

3. The Chocolate Brownie CompanyChocolate Brownie Company

Chocoholics of Neath unite – this stall is for you! The Chocolate Brownie Company’s homemade chocolate brownies come in a variety of flavours – all very naughty but ever so nice!

4. AeronaAerona

We  visited the Aerona stall last year at Neath Food Festival and after a few samples, we can guarantee you will come away with a spring in your step! Aerona will be showcasing their aronia berry liqueur, sweets and chocolates – make sure you try them all!

5. Celtic Country WinesCelteg wines

We  can’t write about Neath Food Festival without mentioning this Welsh company. We stock a selection of their wines at our Neath store – so if you end up buying some Welsh wines or vinegars from their stall this year, you’ll be able to buy more from us all year round!

6. Faithfulls Quality BakingFaithfulls

We  know it’s not even October yet, but this stall is sure to ignite your festive feeling. Offering a range of tasty Christmas treats, you’ll be wishing away the months until you can tuck in to your festival-bought Christmas goodies!

7. Popty CaraPopty Cara

Offering an array of yummy delights including Bara Brith, Welsh Cakes, Welsh cider cake, gingerbread, lemon drizzle cake, diabetic fruit cake, gluten free fruit cake, brownies, flapjacks, Welsh bread pudding and  marmalades, this stall will certainly tickle your taste buds!

8. La Crème PatisserieLa Creme

Regular visitors to Neath will be aware of La Crème Patisserie and at Slate House, we’re lucky enough to be situated just a stones-throw away from their permanent shop base. Pop along to try their cheesecakes, cupcakes, brownies, desserts, baked cakes and much more…

9. Mumbles Pate CompanyMumbles

One for savoury food lovers – Mumbles Pate company offers a range of chicken liver pâtés with a spicy twist.

10. Wiltshire Chilli FarmWiltshire Chilli Farm

If  you love a little bit of heat in your food, don’t miss this stall where you can pick up chilli sauces, chilli jams, chilli salt and pepper, fresh and dried chillies and even chilli plants!
