Why not continue this sweet traditional offering with a Slate House Welsh slate Santa Treat Board. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis hand-cut board is laser engraved with our Slate House design and says ‘Dear Santa, Here is a treat for you \u0026amp; your reindeers too’.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere’s an area for a mince pie or a cookie, a carrot for the reindeers, milk for Santa (or perhaps something stronger). \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIf you would like to make your own mincemeat and mince pies for Santa then try this recipe which uses butter instead of suet. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIngredients:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e500g bag of dried mixed fruit (normally contains sultanas, candied citrus peel and raisins).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e100g dried cranberries.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e1 small cooking apple, peeled, cored and chopped into small pieces.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e100g butter.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e180g light brown soft sugar.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e½ tsp ground cinnamon.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e1 tsp mixed spice.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJuice of 1 lemon.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e200ml of your favourite festive spirit e.g. rum, brandy or sherry. We enjoy gingerbread spiced dark rum. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMethod:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAdd all of the ingredients except for the alcohol in to a large pan. Simmer on a low heat for approximately 10 minutes. Stir often.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTake the pan off the heat and allow to cool completely. Once cooled add your festive spirit and mix thoroughly. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSpoon the mixture into jam jars that have been sterilised.
