Extreme Sailing Series - Welsh Slate Trophies
On August bank holiday weekend, 2014, Cardiff played host to the internationally recognised Extreme Sailing Series. In true bank holiday style, the weather was grey and the rain was pouring, but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the Slate House team!
Having hand-cut and laser-engraved pieces of Welsh slate for the coveted trophies, we had been invited to attend the event and find out what it had to offer. Despite the weather, Cardiff Bay was alive with traders selling their wares and alongside having the opportunity to witness elite level sailing, we even caught a glimpse of Olympic legend, Sir Ben Ainslie.
